The Guideline Short Cut DC (Direct Contact) in weight 9/10 (555 grains) is a compact, powerful shooting head fly line designed for single-hand, switch, and shorter double-hand rods, particularly effective in tight casting situations. It is suitable for salmon and steelhead fishing and is built with an eco-friendly, low-stretch core.

- Design: It is a compact shooting head with a short head length, making it highly effective for use in smaller to medium-sized rivers or when casting room is restricted by obstacles like overhanging trees.
- Casting: The design facilitates easy lift-off from the water and helps generate immense energy for the forward cast, making Spey and switch casts effortless. The weight distribution allows you to achieve significant distance with minimal false casting.
- Core: The line is built on a strong, low-stretch Direct Contact™ braided multifilament core with only 6% stretch, which provides better contact with the fish and improved bite detection. For the 9/10 and 10/11 weights, this core has a breaking strength of 42 lbs.
- Material: The line features a smooth polyurethane (PU) coating which is an environmentally friendly alternative to PVC, as it does not bleed harmful phthalate plasticizers.
- Versatility: The line can be matched with various Guideline tips (such as the 4D and 4D Compact ranges) to adjust the length, weight, and density for different fishing conditions. The 9/10 line works well with 15ft and 18ft tips.
